Roussanne is a traditional Rhône varietal and often used in blends with Viognier to add acidity and finesse. Here, we chose to highlight the grape on its own, and experimented with aging a portion of this lot in New Acacia barrels. The idea here was to bring out more of Roussanne’s soft floral character and round out its acidity without overpowering the citrus notes with oak flavors and aromas. We certainly feel we have achieved our goal with this wine, and hope you’ll agree.
