This is a brand new wine for us that was the product of serendipity. We were approached by a small grower at Crossnoe vineyards that grows grapes we don’t normally harvest - Niagra and Riesling. Niagra is actually a cold hardy hybrid that is popular in North America. Riesling of course is a cold weather vinifera that is very popular in Germany, Austria, and Alsace as well as Australia. While it may make no sense in Texas, we were curious enough to give them a try and were pleasantly surprised with the results! The Niagra fermented with native yeast and then aged for 5 months in neutral oak barrels. We found the Niagra had nice toasty straw/hay notes that were really unique. We hope you’ll enjoy tasting this one of a kind wine!
