2021 Texas High Plains Vermentino
2021 Texas High Plains Vermentino

We love Vermentino. It’s a white that holds it’s acid fairly well in the heat, and it ages in a fun and interesting way. This is our first vintage getting it from Canted Country Vineyards in Lamesa and were really pleased with the fruit. 2021 was a challenging year for whites given all the rain, but the Vermentino turned out beautifully. This wine fermented entirely in stainless steel tanks and aged on its lees almost until bottling in January.

Tasting Notes
This wine has a lovely nose of orange blossom, lemon, with hints of minerality, sea breeze and fresh green herbs. The palate has a slight creaminess to it with notes of peaches and lime. A smooth mouthfeel is complimented by lively acidity on this medium bodied white. Enjoy this wine now through 2026

Food Pairing Notes
This is a great wine for well-seasoned (not to be confused with spicy!) foods and would do well with Asian dishes, pestos, and lemon peppered chicken.
