2020 Daniel Vineyards Tempranillo
2020 Daniel Vineyards Tempranillo
20DVTempranillo

This is our first year making a vineyard designated Tempranillo from Daniel Vineyard. This vineyard is unique in that it is situated directly within the city limits of Lubbock. Meaning that for one subdivision, this vineyard is their backyard. Tempranillo is the only variety grown on this well managed five acre lot. It was hand harvested, and then destemmed but not crushed, on it’s way to tank. It cold soaked to help bring out this vineyards delicate aromatics and flavors, and then had a nice long, slow ferment. It aged in barrel for about 15 months before being bottled. Tempranillo ages really well in bottle and we look forward to seeing what these newer vines show off.

Tasting Notes
This wine starts with lots of smoke and vanilla up front, followed by graphite, hints of licorice, blueberry, raspberries and cherry cola. The body is on the fuller side and showcases earth and chocolate on the palate with plentiful tannins for ageability. We recommend this wine 2023-2035.
