One of our favorite things about making a Hill Country designated Tempranillo is the opportunity to truly showcase Texas terroir. This Tempranillo is distinctly different from a High Plains Tempranillo and showcases earthier and woody tones. A side by side can be impressive even in the same vintage. This vintage highlights some local Hill Country growers we have known for years. The Speier’s focus primarily on Tempranillo in their family vineyard and it is one of the most meticulously cared for vineyards around. Everything is managed by hand – in fact you can barely fit a tractor in the vineyard.
