2020 Texas High Plains Roussanne
2020 Texas High Plains Roussanne

We haven’t made a varietal Roussanne since 2016. The small harvest of 2020 gave us the opportunity to pick some up and experiment with this grape again. After an extensive, internal white wine tasting panel, we’ve decided this is a grape we would like to keep long term in our program. It’s a lovely blending grape with Viognier and works well on it’s own in many different styles. This Roussanne fermented in stainless steel, then a portion went to 2nd and 3rd use French oak barrels for a short aging and regular lees stirring. The intent was to make a lighter bodied and approachable white, which we feel we achieved this vintage.
