Our Viognier, and white varieties in general, were of excellent quality in 2019. We were able to pick at peak ripeness while maintaining some acid, which can be fleeting in Texas grapes. This vintage of Reserve Viognier was designed for complexity over time. It was aged both in tank and barrel and received weekly lees stirrings which have contributed to wonderful mouthfeel and toasty notes. We also experimented with a new cooperage and held this Viognier in three different styles of French oak barrel. We are looking forward to watching this wine grow, and hope you’ll enjoy it as much as our winemaking team has.
