2019 Texas High Plains Carignan
2019 Texas High Plains Carignan
19TXHPCARIGNAN

The 2019 Carignan was released both as an unaged Signature Series wine which was bottled two months after harvest, and here after 15 months in predominately neutral oak. We blended the final product with a bit of Syrah, one of Carignan’s Rhone partners. We are really enjoying Carignan as a “drink now” and chillable red wine that is easy, yet interesting. It is one of those special varieties that can be both fruity and earthy—so although it isn’t intended to age, it comes with plenty of fun notes already.

Tasting Notes
Cherries, strawberries, tomato leaf, hibiscus and dried herbs are present on the nose. This wine is light bodied, and soft and juicy on the palate. You’ll get both fruit and earth on the palate and low tannin mean you can easily put a light chill on this wine during hot summer months.
