Pedernales Cellars

2017 Texas High Plains Vermentino

We are in our third vintage of Vermentino here at Peder-nales Cellars. An Italian white-wine varietal, we have found this grape has a great deal of versatility here in Texas and have enjoyed experimenting with it in the cel-lar. This vintage contains a small percentage of barrel-aged Vermentino which we found did nicely both in French Oak and Acacia barrels. While we appreciate the complexity that barrel aging adds to the overall blend, the majority of this wine is fermented in stainless steel to maintain it’s crisp, yet delicate aromas and flavors.

Our 2017 Vermentino is an excellent white wine for food pairing or for sipping on the porch. Try it with lemon chicken, vegetable dishes, fresh salads, or sea-food.
