2017 Texas High Plains Vermentino
2017 Texas High Plains Vermentino

We are in our third vintage of Vermentino here at Pedernales Cellars. An Italian white-wine varietal, we have found this grape has a great deal of versatility here in Texas and have enjoyed experimenting with it in the cellar. This vintage contains a small percentage of barrelaged Vermentino which we found did nicely both in French Oak and Acacia barrels. While we appreciate the complexity that barrel aging adds to the overall blend, the majority of this wine is fermented in stainless steel to maintain it’s crisp, yet delicate aromas and flavors.
