2017 PC TX Tempranillo Reserve

This Temp Reserve is one of the first with simply a “Texas "Appellation. This is because half of the fruit in this lot comes from Dusty Evan’s vineyard in Midland, TX—which despite having been growing for years, doesn’t have an appellation of it’s own. Evan’s Tempranillo is unique in that it is loaded with dark fruit notes which adds complexity to the total blend. We consistently find it to be some of the “jammiest” fruit in the state and kissed with some French Oak and Carginon, we think this will be a long lasting Rioja-esque Tempranillo.

Wine Profile

The 2017 Temp Reserve is an elegant wine from the first nose. Notes of blackberry, black cherry, vanilla, and leather welcome you from the glass, while on the palate you’ll find rich fruit notes of black raspberry and cherry, cigar, cocoa and vanilla. The tannin’s are soft and mouthfeel and finish are smooth and lingering.
96% Tempranillo, 4% Carginon
A very food friendly wine. Great with red meats, stews, BBQ, lasagna, roast duck, or charcuterie and olives; just to name a few.
