2017 Kuhlken Vineyards Reserve
2017 Kuhlken Vineyards Reserve

The Kuhlken Reserve is a wine we make using only fruit from our estate vineyard in Fredericksburg, Texas. Planted by our family in 1995, the estate has grown from 4 to 17 acres and still contains some of the original plantings of Merlot and Cabernet which you will find in this blend. The vineyard is tended to entirely by hand from pruning to harvest and fermentations are gentle in small bins.

This is a wine designed to age, and we do recommend cellaring for at a minimum of one year before drinking. The development of our KV Reserve has always been fun to experience as it truly is a different wine from bottle on.

Tasting Notes
The 2017 Kuhlken Reserve is a complex wine that changes beautifully over time. You’ll find black cherry, bramble, earth, and baking spices on the nose and the palate with hints of cherry, cassis, and dried herbs. This medium bodied wine has just the tannins and acid needed to match your favorite cut of steak. We recommend drinking now through 2032.
Food Pairing Notes
Hearty dishes and red meats - braised lamb and roast beef, rich roasted vegetables with rosemary and blue cheese.
