2016 Texas Tempranillo Reserve

One of the most frequent questions we get about the Tempranillo Reserve is how it’s different from our Texas or Hill Country Tempranillo. Put simply, this vintage of Tempranillo Reserve is 100% varietal and uses only our highest quality lots. While American Oak is traditional, we also add finesse to this wine with a touch of French Oak. This wine is meant to be more structured, reflect darker fruit notes and is more comparable to a Ribera Del Duero style Tempranillo.

Wine Profile

The 2016 Reserve Tempranillo has an expressive nose with bright fruit and oak characteristics. You’ll find aromas of red cherry candy, cinnamon, bramble, toasted coconut and vanilla. On the palate, medium acid and tannin give way to a pleasant and long finish with notes of pepper and black cherry.
Aged for 18 months in American and French oak barrels.

Herbed Sunday roasts, hearty stews and soups, grilled ribs and even burgers. For the vegetarians, our Tempranillo Reserve would be equally great with black bean burgers, pasta dishes, and pizza.
