Fredericksburg, Texas is turning 175 years old! To honor our heritage, and all those who have helped make this unique community what it is today, Fredericksburg began a year-long tribute in May, highlighting a unique and lasting characteristic of Fredericksburg each month. In July, we are honoring "Lasting Family Heritage." What better way to celebrate this tradition than by having a meal together in the family vineyard? Located just 13 miles from Fredericksburg, Kuhlken Vineyards was founded in 1995 by Larry and Jeanine Kuhlken inside the Bell Mountain AVA, the first viticultural area designated in Texas! In the last 26 years of grape growing, the Kuhlken family has learned all about what works (and what doesn't) in the Texas Hill Country. Join us on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 10a.m. to learn more about growing and making wine in Texas, and what the future holds for our vineyard. Stories will be shared all morning by the founding family and our vineyard manager, Evan McKibben. After this educational tasting in the vines, join us at the top of the hill for a beautiful lunch overlooking the Hill Country landscape.
