Pedernales Cellars is located near Stonewall in the very heart of the Texas Hill Country. The winery’s location, set back a little over a mile from the main artery US 290 and the Pedernales River, is a unique site in the Hill Country. Up here on the hill side, close to the peak of Gingerbread Hill, the nights are cooler, the days breezy, and the view spectacular. That the site is protected from the highway road noise is something our visitors enjoy as they relax in our calming settings, but even more memorable are the outstanding views of the Pedernales River Valley. If you are coming for a visit to Fredericksburg or the Hill Country, Pedernales Cellars is ideally located for a stop.

Walk-in tastings
Monday to Thursday: 10:00 am to 5 pm
Friday to Saturday: 10:00 am to 6 pm
Sunday: noon to 6 pm
The tasting room is open seven days a week for tastings and no appointments are necessary. Visitors are encouraged to spend as much time as they want at the estate, roaming the grounds, enjoying the calm setting, and taking in the outstanding views of the valley with a glass of wine.
We offer tastings of nine wines for a tasting fee of $12.95 per person. For this price you also keep the Pedernales logo wine glass used in your tasting.
Public Cellar Tours
On Friday, Saturday, and Sundays, a member of our knowledgeable and professional staff will be available to provide tours to tasting room visitors enjoying a taste of our wines. Tours will depart the tasting room at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30pm. The tour typically lasts 15 minutes and allows visitors to walk through our 4,000 sqft underground barrel cellar and production space seeing first hand how we make our award winning wines. Monday through Thursdays, tours may be available upon request, if staff is available, but it is best to call in advance to verify whether a tour can be arranged on these days.
Guided private tour and tasting sessions
The best way for the wine lover to experience Pedernales Cellars and its wines is to take a private guided tour of the estate. Available by appointment only, the tour features a look at the wine-making facilities, the estate and the underground cellar. The conclusion of the tour is a relaxed sit-down private tasting session with a member of our professional staff. The exact line-up of wines will vary over time depending on what wines are available and as different wines mature over time. Typically, the full range of our wines is available for tasting. A light food pairing is also included in the tasting. After the tasting, participants are free to stay at the winery, roam the grounds, and enjoy the view. The private tasting and tour starts at $30 per person.
