David Kuhlken, Winemaker
David traces his roots back in Texas six generations. A graduate of Rice University and UT McCombs School of Business he has also studied oenology and viticulture at UC Davis. His involvement in the Texas wine industry goes back to the early 1990s when he with his family first planted the vineyard carrying his family name, Kuhlken Vineyards. David is a co-founder of Pedernales Cellars and is in charge of winemaking.
Fredrik Osterberg, President
Fredrik is a co-founder of Pedernales Cellars and has an extensive
background in entrepreneurial ventures and serving as an advisor to
clients in the consumer sector. He provides strategic direction and
also oversees business development.
Jim Brown, General Manager
One
of the pioneers of the Texas wine industry, Jim was previously with
Becker Vineyards and served as its General Manager for 13 years, helping
to establish and grow their vineyard and production operations. Having
joined Pedernales Cellars, Jim is in charge of all aspects of production
and day-to-day management of the winery and also oversees the current
expansion and build-out of the wine-making and hospitality facilities.
Julie Kuhlken, Design Director
Julie has brought an extensive background in art and philosophy to
Pedernales Cellars. She designed the distinctive logo and unique labels on
our all of our wines. In addition to her work with Pedernales Cellars,
Julie is a professor of Art and Aesthetics at Misericordia University.
Heather Kuhlken, Sales and Marketing Manager
Heather helped to oversee the design and construction of the tasting room
and plays a key role in developing our sustainability programs. She also
produced the photography found throughout our website, marketing
material, and tasting room. Her background is in teaching and ecology.
